Firefighters and Nurses say:

YES ON A

Did you know that Mendocino College is the largest work force training provider in the region- particularly for fire, nursing, emergency response, and skilled construction?

Not every student can afford, or wants to attend, a 4 – year university. Thousands of students, veterans, and families rely on Mendocino College each year to get the job training, technical knowledge and specialized skills they need to compete for good-paying, modern careers right here.

But these vital careers in today’s economy demand specialized, current training, and local students and workers need access to high-quality education and job training programs to compete successfully for these jobs. That’s why we need YES on A!

YES on A upgrades classrooms needed for career programs like firefighting and nursing, and continued partnerships with local employers in the healthcare field like Sutter and Adventist so students are prepared for our region's changing economy and today's in-demand careers.

Mendo College saves local students and families thousands of dollars by offering an affordable alternative to four-year universities that are more than six times more expensive.

YES on A increases opportunities for local students to earn certifications, job skills and college credits at a reasonable price and then transfer to a four-year university without crushing debt.

YES on A ensures:

  • Clean drinking water

  • Repaired leaky roofs

  • Career technical education facilities for the trades

  • Removal of any mold, asbestos, or lead paint

  • Repaired labs and classrooms to train nurses, physical therapy assistants, and EMTs
